Advanced Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship Package

Introduction

Advanced Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship is a project-based learning package of information, equipment, and supplies as well as suggested lesson plans. It was designed to be used as either a semester or a year-long project-based course.

Course Description

This is a course in the role and characteristics of agricultural and related businesses in our economy. The purpose of this course is to teach students how to:

  • provide a basis for making effective business decisions

  • set goals

  • assess and solve problems

  • determine financial progress and success

  • evaluate the management of resources

  • gain skills useful in the diverse fields of agribusiness and entrepreneurship

The package is comprised of 14 units, each containing the following:

  • Farm Works logounit overviews - objectives, activities, and a materials list for each activity

  • instructor notes/information – documents, slide shows and notes for whole-group instruction as well as instructions for small group and individual student activities

  • student handouts and tests - work sheets and suggested evaluation for each activity

  • Farm Works accounting software

  • handheld computers for GPS/GIS precision agriculture management tools
